About the Artist
Trina moved to Hawaii Island in 2015 from British Columbia, Canada.
A self-taught artist, Trina creates art full time and enjoys experimenting with different mediums. Painting primarily with acrylics, Trina has ventured out to silk screening, water colors, and art on reclaimed wood.
Living in a small mountain town in British Columbia, Trina had the opportunity to explore her artistic talents on the nature based subjects of mountains, wildlife and flowers. Moving to Hawaii, Trina enjoys other elements of nature by painting ocean and sea life scenes.
Trina does extensive research when she is painting an animal new to her collection. As a trained massage therapist, Trina studied the human anatomy and finds her education helpful as she translates the composition to her painted subjects.
About the Art
Trina makes her frames and stretches her own canvas. For the other mediums she is exploring, Trina finds herself consumed in the creative process from start to finish. Each of her silk screen prints are completely unique. She believes in the entire art process, stretching the silk and using her own hand drawn (not computer generated) art designs. When she is printing she plays with the inks to give each print its own unique color and design. Trina’s products include printing on canvas bags and clothing.
Trina’s silk screen prints, along with her paintings and Giclées are available on this site in the Art Gallery section and at many of Hawaii Island’s farmers markets.
